Stockport County are known as the Hatters due to the local area’s history in hat making. County play in League one after promotion from League Two in 2008 under manager Jim Gannon. County did spend five season in the second tier of the football league but since fell down the leagues. Last season after being placed in administration the club had to let go of Gannon. Gary Ablett has since taken over as manager.

Stockport County home shirts are blue, with blue shorts and white socks. Stockport County away shirts are black, the shorts are black with black socks.
