Newcastle United know as the Toon or the Magpies are arguable the biggest club in the North-East over rivals Middlesbrough and Sunderland. Newcastle United have had a up and down time in the Premiership, under the management of Kevin Keegan the club the club almost won the league in 1995-96 season but gave away a 12 point lead to Manchester United.
Since the departure of Keegan the club has has 8 managers, including a second spell for Keegan last season which ended when Keegan was forced to sell players. Since then Joe Kinner has steadied the ship, Kinner then had to step down from the role after a heart operation. Alan Shearer took up the managers role in April but was unable to keep the club in the Premiership after a last day defeat to Aston Villa.
