Hartlepool have one of the greatest nicknames in the entire Football League “The Monkey Hangers”. The nicknames come from when local hung a monkey thinking it was a French Spy. Currently in League One after promotion in 2006-07. The team plays at Victoria Park a ground with a capacity of 7,691.
