Shirt makers Puma have secured a deal to suppy all team kits and training equipment to Newcastle United. The deal sees the end of a long relationship with Addidas.
The deal starts from the start of the 2010/2011 season and due to run for two seasons.
Current shirt sponsors Northern Rock are looking to extend their shirt sponsorship of Championship leaders Newcastle.
The bank are looking to continue the sponsorship for a dithering four seasons. The deal is thought to be worth £10 million but could change according to the league the Magpies are in.
After the disaster that was the Newcastle United Yellow away kit the magpie’s have a new third kit which they might be using a little more often. Avoiding anything too bright the kit is the same design but with black and blue stripes.
The kit is on sale from Thursday 27th of August.
Every year there is a really bad kit which will go down in history, this year it’s Newcastle. Not only are the club a laughing stock at the moment following relegation, having no manager and selling all their players they’ll now play this this horrid yellow away kit.
The kit will be on pre-order from 11am on Monday June 22 with a launch on Thursday, July 23.
Newcastle United have released their new home shirt for the 2009/2010 season. The magpies are currently in the relegation zone and despite the best efforts of Alan Shearer their newly appointed manager. Unless there’s a massive turnaround it could see the north-east club playing the championship. If they do they’ll have a brand new kit to show off to the likes of Blackpool, Bristol and Swansea.
The kit made by Addidas sports the Northern Rock logo and is already on pre-order to all fans via the clubs website or store. The kit will be released on May 14th in time for the Fulham home match.
